The trek kicks off from Moshi to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of the Rongai Route. A scenic drive brings you to the gate, where the ascent begins. The trail winds through lush rainforests, offering glimpses of exotic flora and fauna. Covering approximately 8 kilometers, the day takes around 5-7 hours, culminating at Simba Camp, your first campsite nestled in the wilderness.

Leaving the rainforest behind, the trek enters moorland terrain. The day's journey spans around 13 kilometers, taking approximately 6-8 hours, as you ascend to the Second Cave. Marvel at the changing landscapes and the vastness of the slopes of Kilimanjaro.
