Starting at the Rongai Gate, the trek leads through dense forest with glimpses of wildlife. The trail gradually ascends to Simba Camp at an altitude of 2,625 meters. Covering approximately 8 kilometers, the day offers a moderate hike showcasing varying landscapes from lush greenery to open moorland, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C.

Today's journey covers around 5 kilometers, trekking through heath and moorland. You will ascend to the Second Cave campsite, situated at 3,450 meters above sea level. The day's hike takes roughly 4-5 hours, offering stunning vistas and a temperature range of 10°C to 20°C.

The trail traverses alpine desert terrain, spanning about 6 kilometers and taking 6-7 hours to reach Kikelewa Cave at 3,600 meters. The landscape transforms into rocky outcrops with panoramic views of Mawenzi. Expect temperatures between 5°C to 15°C, showcasing Kilimanjaro's diverse climate zones.

Trekking roughly 8 kilometers over 4-6 hours, the path ascends to Mawenzi Tarn at 4,330 meters. The route exposes dramatic landscapes of the Tarn, surrounded by towering cliffs and high desert. Temperatures drop significantly to 0°C to 10°C, emphasizing the altitude's impact.

Accommodations: Mawenzi Turn Campsite
The most challenging day culminates in the ultimate achievement reaching Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro's summit. Starting at Mawenzi Tarn, the trail ascends to Kibo Hut (4,700 meters), then to the summit at 5,895 meters. Descending to Horombo Hut (3,720 meters), this day encompasses 15 kilometers, lasting 11-15 hours. Temperatures range from -10°C to -5°C at the summit, showcasing Kilimanjaro's extremes.
