Witness the transition in temperature from the gate's moderate climate to the cool embrace of the forest. The day covers approximately 8 km, taking around 4-5 hours.

Leaving the rainforest behind, today's journey unfolds through the Mti Mkubwa region, revealing the vast Shira Plateau. As you ascend, notice the shift in landscape to moorlands, with a distance of about 15 km, taking around 6-7 hours.
